Hi ladies, for those of you who have started working from home, how have you been coping with WFH?
With the exacerbating COVID-19 situation, many have implemented new social distancing measures, WFH arrangements and improved hygiene standards.
At TCL, we are equally concerned for our TCL family and have taken measures to safeguard our health and safety as well as yours. We have implemented WFH arrangements for our TCL team at HQ where different departments rotate between working from home and the office.
Read on to find out more as we share our tips on how to stay productive while working from home and the measures taken by us in combating this virus!
WFH SURVIVAL GUIDE
1. Start your morning right with a cup of coffee
We all need that morning boost to help us get through the day. Make yourself a cup of coffee or tea if you fancy tea instead! Enjoy it together with a good breakfast and you are all set to start work!
2. Indulge in a good breakfast
As they say, happiness is a full belly. Motivate yourself for the day ahead with a good breakfast and what's good about working from home is that you can use your commute time to make breakfast instead. Can't think of what to cook? We recommend making french toast for breakfast - it's simple, quick and easy.
Beat together egg, milk and salt and dip a slice of bread into the egg mixture. Feel free to add in other condiments of your choice! Heat the pan over medium heat and add in a teaspoon of butter. Make sure that both sides are covered in the egg mixture before placing it in the pan. Cook till the sides are golden and crisp. The whole process just takes 15 mins tops!
3. Plan out your tasks for the day
Come up with a to-do list so you have a good idea of the tasks you need to complete for the day. Complete the tasks that requires more heavy thinking and energy early in the day and leave easier tasks to later in the day. This ensures that you don't lose track of what you have to do for the day and stick to going through the tasks. A simple tip to stay focused and productive when working from home!
4. Dedicate a workspace for yourself
We feel you! In the comfort of your own home, it's hard to stay productive and work with so many distractions around the house. From the TV in your living room to your own soft and comfortable bed, it's hard to resist the urge to watch those Netflix shows or to take a nap. As such, if possible, dedicate a workspace for yourself instead of working in the living room or on your bed. You can also dress up in casual wear instead of wearing your PJs while working. It helps your body and mind distinguish between working and resting, and gets you mentally prepared for the day.
5. Re-energise with breaks
Taking short breaks can increase productivity and creative levels. Move away from your workspace, walk around the house and do some stretching to re-energise yourself for the work ahead. You can also listen to some happy music to relieve the dreariness of working alone. Miss your colleagues and the bustling office scene? We get that working from home alone can be lonely sometimes but you can still connect with your colleagues remotely over video calls.
HOW WE COMBAT COVID-19
1. Regular sanitation at our retail stores
It is recommended to stay at home and to reduce the number of trips out to malls. However, should you come shop with us, our lovely retail girls have taken extra care in ensuring that you can have a safe and enjoyable shopping experience at our stores. Nothing matters more to us than your well-being.
Racks and store counters are being sanitised thrice a day and more when there is higher footfall in stores. Hand sanitisers are available at the counters in our stores. We have also added 1m markers on the floor for queues at our cashiers and changing rooms. Following the guidelines by the government, we have limited the number of shoppers to 10 to ensure a safe shopping environment for you.
2. Social distancing at HQ
Even at HQ, we take extra precaution in protecting the health of our TCL team. Arrangements have been made such that everyone sits 1m apart from each other. Daily sanitation and temperature-taking are also done for the days when we work at the office.
With these in mind, we hope that our own WFH survival guide has given you some ideas and inspiration for your WFH days. Here's also a reminder that we can all play a part in ensuring that we stay safe and healthy during this trying period by minimising physical contact and staying at home! Remember that we are all in this together and we can overcome this crisis by spreading positivity and love to the people around us.
As Abraham Hicks said; when you focus on the good, the good gets better.
Hope you have a great weekend ahead! :)
Love,
TCL
